I love November.
Not sure why, its probably not the most popular month.
But maybe because there is not a lot of fuss about November.
Well except for the election.
And maybe Thanksgiving.
So besides all that, November is, to me, November is a calm month. It's a bit serious, and wise. Harvesting is done. Well metaphorically anyway. It's the calm before the "frantic" HOLIDAYS!
This month's Cachette collection was such a joy to assemble. Not normally being that fond of burgundy, but by pairing it with the color Tarragon, I have learned to appreciate it much more. Add some warm browns a bit of rust and bursts of gold, just about sums up the winning color combination created for this kit.
I have included a big pile of vintage Phesant feathers from the Milliner's lot I purchased eons ago, that were stored in old jars, and a bit of a super snugly burgundy felted wool blanket ready to make a rose pin out of for your new winter coat. There are six proud Dresden turkeys, a few vintage millinery acorns and gorgeous velvet leaves and scalloped trim to enhance any November project or gift.
Don't you just LOVE the way the fabric from French General perfectly compliments this collection? Wait 'till you see it in person! The birds and bamboo plants against the palest of green plays off the richness of the burgundies and browns. An unusual addtion are the three long cotton organdy millinery stems; do something clever with those. And the six golden vintage Rose charms will be that perfect finishing touch to anything.
Ribbons, and more ribbons of course are included, as well as again some unusual lengths of brown wire bullion, used in jewelry and ornament making. Of course no Cachette would be complete without some sparkle of real German Glass Glitter in Chocolat brown. (Of course this glitter has no fillers, just glass.)
Now you can send those dozen friends (okay eleven friends, keep one for yourself) their November post card, you know, in the mail.
