This post is for you; all the creative women who made our first "Bloom" event so wonderful it surpassed my wildest dreams.

Schedule Change

It's just getting better and better, Michelle's class is moving to Saturday during Bloom!  

For those of you wishing to take the Silk Fabric Flower class but did not want to make 2 trips to Stillwater, we hear you!    Now all three fabulous classes, and the Soiree are all together, on Saturday.  We have even extended the Soiree hours out to 9:00pm for your enjoyment.  (Kaari will be teaching at 6:00 so if you come late you may miss her.)

Here is the Bloom Schedule, Saturday May 22, 2010:

10:00 - 12:00 Silk Fabric Flower Necklace, Michelle Rose Jorgensen

1:00 - 4:00 Bird in a Tinsel Nest - Shadow Box, Jennifer Murphy

4:00 - 9:00 Bloom Soiree, Book Signing and Market - Meet Jo Packham and Cathy Mogull as well as teachers.

6:00 - 8:30 Vintner's Daughter - Necklace, Kaari Meng

The Tote Bag

Get this gorgeous, roomy, silk dupioni tote bag as a gift when you sign up for all 3 Bloom classes!  Completely lined with 2 inside pockets and straps in just the right length. Customized with a Bloom pocket on the outside and vintage French trim. Bird in a Tinsel Nest!

Be still my heart! Jennifer has created this adorable shadowbox just for us! I am Happily surprised and very impressed at how she pulled the mood of the Bloom event into this darling creation. 

I cannot imagine how much a piece like this would cost to buy, but being able to create it yourself with step-by-step guidance from the artist herself - hmmm priceless.  Okay actually it's only $65. 

We are putting together the materials lists, but I can tell you this; between Jennifer and Rose Mille, (me) we've got you covered.  

The Bloom site has been updated with this class and sign-ups have begun.  Actually we started taking students a few days ago.  With only a very few spaces left in Kaari Meng's class this is going to fill up fast! To go directly to Jennifer's Page on the Bloom site click Here.

Bloom is less than a month away!!

Jennifer Murphy at Bloom!

It just keeps getting better!    You may have seen her on Martha Stewart making her adorable Pom Pom Bunnies, or her  fanciful Pumpkin man.  Her wedding cake toppers are often seen in Martha Stewart Weddings magazine. And her creations have been licensed by Midwest of Cannon Falls and sold at all over including at Rose Mille!  You may even already own one of her designs and not realize it.

 

Not only is she an amazing artist, an excellent teacher and crafts-person , but she is so down-to-earth and nice too. She is truly one of the most amazing people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. 

 
Just as soon as we have photos of the new project she will be teaching, we will put it on the Bloominmay.com site and you will be able to register for her class. 

What I can tell you is that it will be some kind of bird in a nest shadow box, all set for Spring!  Her class will be held on Saturday, May 22 from 1:00 to 4:00, just before the Soiree!  (She may also be bringing some of her originals to sell at the Market!) To give you an idea, this is what the lucky students at "Silver Bella" in Omaha made last November.

And only 4 weeks away!

Good News!

We measured, we've re-arranged and re-configured so that we could increase the class size and we are successful!  That means that there are 9 more spaces for Kaari Meng's "Vintner's Daughter necklace class!"   Thank goodness as the waiting list had started, and everyone on it now has a spot.  So if you tried earlier, try again!

Our classroom is located behind the Rose Mille shop on Water Street, but you will want to access it through the shop on Main Street.

5 Weeks to Bloom!

There are 5, oops no 4, oh my, only 3 more spots left for Vintners Daughter class with Kaari Meng.  If it fills up without you, we will start a waiting list.  So if that happens send us an email right away as we will go down the list by first come first served, if there are openings.

There is lots of room with Candace Kling's Classes - so if you are thinking about it, please sign up so we can hold them. 

Remember, the Soiree is included with any class sign-up!  Tickets will be sent out soon.

Meet Jo Packham

The author of numerous creative books and co-producer of "The Creative Connection" event in Minneapolis, will be making a surprise appearance at Bloom! 

We are scrambling for more of her books and quarterly publication,"Where Women Create" published by Stampington, and a couple of books bearing the same name, published by Lark Books.

Jo will be toting her photographers as well, so students, if you will all behave in class on Saturday, May 22, you might find yourself in one of the next issues of Where Women Create!   Written words cannot describe how excited we (I) am!  You just might have to see the excitement in person at the Rose Mille shop.

Jo will be making a "surprise appearance" during the Soiree and Market, during "Bloom",  May 22, 4-6 pm.

The Soiree and Cathy Mogull

The days are getting longer and warmer and signs of Spring are everywhere. The anticipation is inspiring. 

As Bloom gets closer the details are getting finalized for the Soiree. The newest addition to the event is Cathy Mogull, who will be offering some of her wares from her new shop in Santa Barbara, CA; Summerland Mercantile. Cathy is also a talented photographer, as evident from the photographs in Rachel Ashwell's first books, and on her own photo journal blog; "cathymogull.com".
